#Who Am I?

Well this seems like a fairly important question to answer. I’m Phil, and this website is going to serve a few purposes for me

• A repository for my 3d, photography, and graphic design work
• An easy way to get in touch or learn about me
• Somewhere to write about my life, living with chronic illness, or whatever cool project I want to talk about!

With that being said, let’s get to some questions.

I thought you were a mechanical engineer?

I am! (Well, trying to be, at least) As much as enjoy tackling interesting design problems, I am very passionate about my more creative hobbies. While I find both these left and right brain activities to be rewarding, more importantly I find they act synergistically, and being a designer makes me a far better engineer.

Chronic Illness?

You betcha! About three years ago I was diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis and ulcerative colitis. As difficult as it has been managing these conditions, I’ve learned a ton and grown a lot as a person. I hope to use this blog to document my experience and provide a reprieve from the typical You got this! or Just hang in there! type of support, because anyone who deals with these things know that’s about as unhelpful as it gets. Althought this blog is likely to contribute to the metaphorical floating trash pile in the ocean of the internet from everyone who thought they could write something interesting, if just one person struggling with a medical condition gets any degree of solace from reading this I’ll be happy :)
